Salutations, Ladies and Gentlemen.
We’ve been hiding under a rock the last few weeks, working diligently on finishing two different books, our short story compilation From the Dark and Twisted Mind of Inion N. Mathair, and our Mystery/Romance YA Nightwalkers: The Secret of Jessup.
We’ve finally received our cover for the YA novel and are over the moon excited about it. The book blurb is above it along with the tagline. Please let us know what you think, we love hearing from you.
Book Blurb:
Beneath the town of Jessup, Oregon lies a dark and sinister evil that has been brewing for more than half a century and Ethan Farrow is the key to unleashing its mystery. But, will Renni Trenton sacrifice her first and only love to avenge her family and save the town or will she set him free and destroy everything she’s ever known? What secrets do the mountains in Jessup hold?
Tagline:
Her first love, his last chance, a secret is all that separates them.

I’ve purchased my copy now. 😉

Yay!! Thank you so much for your support Phil, & we hope you like Nightwalkers!! Merry Christmas friend! 🙂

Inion, look after that cover designer. It would make me pick up the book from among an array. I am sure the inside is just as good (if with an evil character, perhaps, or bloody events!) R x
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thanks so much, and we got him on lockdown. LOL. We’ll let him know how much you liked it and we’re so glad you do as well. And, yes, there’s plenty of bloody events and evil characters; 13 tales worth.

Congrats, very mysterious and intriguing cover. Love it!
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thank you. We just got the proof and it’s definitely not disappointed. It’s just as striking as the image our cover artist sent us.

Wow – the cover jumps – good thing to have a jumping cover as you well know. Your tag line is beyond terrific and well, what can I say about the blurb that hasn’t already been said. Job well done.
Inion N. Mathair said:
Hi Sheri & thx for coming by. We’re always happy to see you & get feedback from you on our books. The cover was a big celebration for us as the first pick was so drab & boring! When Matt came back with this one, we were ecstatic. The Poppy is such an important part of our story, we were excited to put it on the cover. Thanks again for stopping by!
Alarna Rose Gray said:
Great cover and tag! Lots to intrigue there. Hope you’re having a blast on the finishing touches 🙂
Inion N. Mathair said:
Hi Alarna, thanks so much for the positive feedback. Finishing touches indeed! We can see the finish line and are so excited to reach it. lol The book cover was much harder this time as we had something else in mind but it just looked awful. But we’re real happy with this one and the tagline as well. They both just felt right! Thanks again for coming by.

Congratulationssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss////// I’m ordering that book for sure…Nightwalkers here I come
Inion N. Mathair said:
YAY! Thank you so much, Debaroon. We’re honored that you would want to buy our book. It’s definitely a lot less gory and much cleaner than The Perfect 7, but still has a great edge to it.

The cover and blurb are great hooks for the book. Black and red go so well together!
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thanks JM. It’s becoming a go to color-scheme for our covers, as our first book, THE PERFECT 7 was the same two colors. Funny enough we didn’t plan it that way. But our first round pick, was so boring in creme & with a pic of a desk. Looked like one of those “How-To” books. LOL. Our Book Cover Artist came back with this and we flipped! Plus poppies are such a vital part of our story, so it worked out nicely! Thanks for coming by and checking it out and for the comment!

The tagline is brilliant, and I adore the cover! Simple, but NOT. Does that make sense? It’s very powerful and eye catching without having a lot of things going on. I truly think it’s brilliant. Did you do it yourself or do you hire out? Curious cuz I’m at that stage soon! Also, BLURB…very good! The hardest thing ON THE FRIGGIN PLANET TO DO!!! GAH. But you did it so well. Brava ladies! Brava!
Inion N. Mathair said:
Can’t say enough about our cover artist. He also did The Perfect 7 and is doing our short story collection. He is professional, always sends things when he says, and believe it or not, spent months working on a previous idea we had, and had no problem scrapping it all when we came to him with our new one. Put that all together with his reasonable prices and I would say he’s the best out there right now. If you’d like, let us know and we’ll drop him your email when you’re ready. His name is Matt. No pressure. Keep it in the back of your mind. BTW, if you’re like us, tight with money, he’s very workable in that area and never pressures. Now, for the cover. You’re the first person to recognize that and funny enough it’s the exact reason we picked it. It was so simple, but captures you at the same time. And, blurbs? AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It’s something of a weakness of ours and believe it or not we spend weeks trying to come up with one. Like we told 4 am writer, if we could fit a novel into a line, then why the hell did we waste that much time on 100,000+ words. LOL. We’re jumping up and down that you like it. Yay!
bethteliho said:
He sounds like exactly what I’m looking for! I’ll be in touch regarding that soon. THANK YOU.
still working on my blurb–ugh. My book is with my editor now so I’m about to have to make a bunch of changes (I assume). Maybe after I rework it I’ll have some inspiration on the blurb. She may be able to help me too. ANYway, this is about YOU not me, and I’m so happy for you!!!!
Coleen Patrick said:
Very nice!! I especially like the “her first love, his last chance”–intriguing! Congratulations. 🙂
Inion N. Mathair said:
We actually had a different tagline, but found that it was quite common and brainstormed until we both agreed on this. Of course, it took us forever to come up with it. LOL. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Coleen. We love hearing from you.

Great cover. Book blurb sounds awesome.
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thanks, Kate. Funny enough, book blurb’s are an Achilles’ heel of ours. Mathair and I always gripe that if we could fit an entire novel into a paragraph, we wouldn’t have spent three months spitting out 130,000 words. LOL.
Catherine Johnson said:
Cover looks fab and the book sounds great. Congratulations!
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thank you, Catherine. We had a couple options, but really loved the simplicity juxtaposed with the vividness of the black and red. This is a completely different book from The Perfect 7… clean. LOL. More commercial, but the topic is still edgy enough to keep it Inion N. Mathair. Of course it is our first whack at romance.
Catherine Johnson said:
Ooh! Will have to read it thdn 🙂
jennifermzeiger said:
The cover does look amazing. And the book sounds like a great story…Add to reading list=)
Inion N. Mathair said:
Nightwalkers was definitely a new venture for us. We hadn’t done much that was commercially friendly or leaned towards romance. It was an… eye opener to say the least. LOL. But, the mystery aspect was so much fun to unwind for the readers. Thanks for stopping by.

Great cover. Really eye-catching!
Carrie Rubin said:
Oops, I hit the publish button too soon. I meant to add that I love the contrast of the black and red.
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thanks, Carrie. We did too. We actually had a crème colored cover with a lot of objects, but we felt it cluttered and was rather boring, so we went with the single poppy, which is actually integral to the story.
J.C. Wolfe said:
Sounds interesting! I like the cover too! Best of luck to you! 😉
Inion N. Mathair said:
Thanks so much, J.C. We’ll be posting the Liebster Award answers soon. Again, we’re honored that you nominated us. It was our first time with romance, but Mathair and I have always been very close and very comfortable with each other. We kept it PG, of course, and tried to spotlight the innocence of first love.
