inThis is by another talented member of our writing group, Wordsmiths of Macon. It took a great deal of persuasion, but we assured Sandra Mixon that hiding her work was an injustice to herself and all lovers of poetry. She is a true gem with a vivacious and colorful personality that always brightens up our discussions with her positivity and light. Thank you for your work, Sandra, and the privilege of posting it.
The Time Traveler
I ride the wave of time;
I am tossed in its wake.
Soaring to the height it gains.
I follow the path it takes.
I cut across the grain,
Beneath the foaming crest line.
I change the course to travel,
And test the constraints of time

inThis is from a dear friend of ours and a fellow member of Wordsmiths of Macon, I. Douglas. He is a very talented gentleman and brings a much needed male perspective to our female dominated group. His poems don’t hesitate to move us with their fluid rhythms and provoke deep emotions. Thank you for your beautiful poem, and the honor of posting it on our site.
Stuck in the Door
Maybe it was a thought
Maybe something forgot
Turning back
Thinking maybe, one more time
But I got stuck in the door
Not a trap
Not a mishap
Simple thoughts
Suspended for a moment
Puzzled by the hesitation
Just stuck in the door
Should I call your name
Could we play a game
Doesn’t matter
I can slow down
Take a look around
While I am stuck in the door
Seems I remember
Seems I tremble
As years go by
Days of laughing
Days of love
Just stuck in the door
Guess I can turn
Guess I can learn
As tears dry
I can find my way
I don’t have to be
Stuck in the door

in May has finally sprung; the flowers are blooming, the birds chirping and Inion N. Mathair is already yearning for the gray, bitterness of a Smoky Mountain winter. For now, we would like to utilize your jovial “Spring Fever” mindsets to ask for your patience.
We’ve been out of touch due to the fact that we are readying our first novel for publication. So, we’ve been working hard to get The Perfect 7 out by early to mid-June, and in doing so, have neglected our blog as well as our networking friends’ blogs, which we miss reading terribly.
In these next few weeks we are going to be reposting favorite pieces from our friends’ blogs and some poems from local artists in our area. (Most of which belong to our writing group, Wordsmiths of Macon.) We will also be selecting a poem from our dear friend, the edgy Debaroon Roy.
We hope that through these spotlights, we are able to share these touching works of art from such passionate and talented writers that we are lucky enough to interact with and even luckier to call friends.
Very soon, we will be leaving you all with our book’s website and Facebook page, so you can keep up with all of the progress and be properly introduced to the seventeen year old degenerate that’s been plaguing our minds for the past year.
Much love and support to you all! XOXO
